Sony's SX65 is a straightforward standard-definition camcorder, nothing more, nothing less. Some folks still prefer standard-def video cameras -- if they don't have an HDTV or a computer that can handle HD video, there's no point in recording anything in high-def. For those folks, the SX65 will be a very solid option. The 60x optical zoom range is certainly powerful, though the image stabilization is digital-only so a tripod is a must-have. And like all 2011 Sony Handycams, the SX65 features a built-in USB cable. It comes with 4GB of built-in flash memory, and also captures to Memory Stick or SD/SDHC cards. Also check out SX85, which comes 16GB of embedded flash memory, or the SX45, which captures to cards only.
