The GZ-HD7 has been replaced, but here's what we had to say about it when it first came out:
Dubbed as the first consumer camcorder offering "Full HD" at 1920x1080i resolution, the GZ-HD7 can actually make the claim what you see is what you get. Three 1/5 inch CCDs are at the heart of the reason why theres no conversion loss of resolution from lens to CCD to MPEG2 transport stream. Additionally, its Fujinon 10x Optical zoom lens operates with optical image stabilization, which mechanically corrects for a shakey image, rather than rely on digital correction that alters the video image and causes signal noise. Its 60GB hard drive gives users 5 hours of recording at Full HD quality with sound recording in MPEG1 Layer2 audio.
