Sony FDR-AX100
Preview of the Sony FDR-AX100.
By Hillary Grigonis, Last updated on: 2/11/2016

When Sony released their first 4K Handycam last year, we were pretty impressed with the video quality, but the AX1 is huge and it doesn't just have a 4K resolution, it has a 4K price tag too. Now, the power of 4K resolution comes in a much smaller--and much less expensive--package, the AX100. With a large one inch sensor and coveted 4K resolution, the AX100 is one of the best consumer camcorders out right now, though it's still pricey at almost $2,000, it has a lot of the power of its big brother without all of the heft, both in weight and expense. Beware though, that there's no built-in memory and you'll need a big, fast card to handle all that resolution.
